The London Ancient DNA Network

We are an early-career researcher run organisation which aims to increase networking and collaboration between ancient DNA researchers at all career levels in and around London.

This allows researchers in this rapidly developing field, who are often in the only ancient DNA groups in their institutions, to meet others tackling similar problems and to create connections for collaboration.

What we do

We hold regular informal events across research institutions around London.

Every couple of months we hold an evening talk followed by networking drinks.

We encourage talks from researchers at all career levels and to discuss ongoing research, providing a place to share ideas or research challenges.

Researchers from closely aligned fields, such as curators, archaeologists or osteologists, are very welcome, creating opportunities for greater interdisciplinary collaboration.

We also host an annual symposium organised around an ancient DNA theme, where we welcome talks from Master's students through to PIs.

Frequently Asked Questions

We welcome all researchers with an interest in ancient DNA around London irrespective of career level or institution. We particularly encourage early career researchers (including Master's & PhD students) to come along.

We have a mailing list and Slack channel where we send out the details of our events, please fill out this form to be added to both. Events are free to attend, but we do appreciate you letting us know if you plan on attending.

We are always really happy to hear from people or organisations which would like to get involved. Please contact us at london.adna.network@gmail.com or via any of our committee members to discuss how you might be able to support us.

Where possible we run our events 'hybridly' via zoom. We regularly have researchers join from as far afield as Japan or the US, or those who just can't make it on the day.
